Welcome to our fantastic luxury Yurt, located in its own private 1 acre secret garden and within 4 acres of woodland and mature gardens with its own river running through it. Millholme House and its gardens are found in one of the most beautiful and more peaceful locations in the Lake District National Park.
Staying in a Yurt is one of the best outdoor living experiences you can have and is very popular especially amongst those who are into green living and glamorous camping.
Our Yurt is a traditional Mongolian Yurt and is hand crafted in Mongolia, imported by Ulann Taij. Our Yurt is brand new for 2010 and is decorated in traditional Mongolian colours and symbols. It offers the best way to camp any time of the year! It is very luxurious and comes with just about everything you need (apart from food of course). It includes:-
- A double bed and a double futon and furniture

- Wooden floors with rugs
- Wood burning stove - with hot plate for cooking
- Outside picnic area by your yurt: Table, chairs, parasol, BBQ & chimera
- Free welcome hamper of food and goodies'

- Solar powered lights & low wattage 240v sockets!
- A utility building (for late 2010)* provides:-
- Double Gas Hob & Grill

- Cooking equipment with crockery and cutlery etc.
- Cooking Pans / Utensils / Baking Tray
- Fire extinguisher and fire blanket
- Free Hot Showers and Clean Toilet
Our Yurt sleeps four to five people. There is a standard double bed and double futon/settee although we can cater for up to six people. We provide pillows and duvets with freshly laundered cotton covers for four people. Further space (for a fifth, sixth or seventh guest) if offered via our new caravan*.
Our Yurt has 5 layers of fabric and is therefore very well insulated. Combined with the hand made Mongolian wood burning stove you will never be cold so long as you tend your fire. It is designed for year round use, even in mid-winter! Low voltage solar powered lights with battery and 240v ac inverter are provided!
Fresh drinking water is available from a tap just 30 metres away. There is a shower and toilet block along with cooking and washing facilities just 50 metres away which has its own wood burning Aga stove for space/water heating. The shower is a power thermostatic shower! This is due to open late Autumn of 2010. Until then we have a new touring caravan to use offering further accommodation, two dining areas, cooking and washing facilities.
Outside of the Yurt is a picnic table seating up to 6 and a BBQ so you can enjoy the evenings where you can gaze at the fells, listen to the river, star gaze, chill out and really enjoy and appreciate nature! Nearby we have a table tennis and games room, a tree house, an organic vegetable patch, free range hens, a hammock for your use, a play area and other gardens to explore. We do short and long breaks, normally Friday changeover and our prices start from a low as £20pppn! However please note that we do not accept smokers or pets, although we do have two friendly dogs, two rabbits and a rather wild cat.
